Editor’s Note: Excitement builds for Cup Week

Every issue of Metropol is special to our team, although often for different reasons. This issue comes out as Christchurch is well down the track gearing up for Cup Week.

Deciding content, working with clients, designing and proofing the pages, and finally sending the magazine to the printer, is followed by the excitement of having it delivered a few days later. Metropol Editor, Lynda Papesch

While the issue is dedicated to Cup Week with fashion, fun, gallops and trots filling its pages, there’s also a lot of other interesting reading. It’s full of what businesses are doing, so if you’re looking for ideas then turn the pages and read on.

All around the central city, there is much work happening behind the scenes so that in a few weeks time, Christchurch will shine in all its glory. True it is always on display, and gaining in popularity as a destination, yet Cup Week is extra special with numerous businesses amping up for summer, and showcasing what they have to offer with renewed vigour.

Considered the highlight of the city’s social calendar, Cup Week has previously brought tens of millions of dollars into Christchurch’s economy, and millions more to the TAB.

There’s no reason to doubt that won’t  happen again this year, bringing a much-needed boost to business confidence.

That aside, it’s a time to get out and have fun, kick-start the summer early with friends and families, and celebrate all that is good about the city we live in.
