A love of natural fibres: OFI Linen

A wish to embrace the beauty of natural fibres sparked the invention of one unique boutique, which is renowned for its colour palettes, styles, and a classic, timeless look.

As an interior designer, Wendy Giltrap always knew the importance of colour and natural fibres. “We love living with them, why are we not wearing them.” With her partner Vance Gemmell, they turned the interior office into the first OFI natural fibre boutique in Havelock-North. That’s how the OFI story began 10 years ago. Soon after the outstanding response, three more boutiques opened in Napier, Cambridge & Christchurch.

The unique colours of the OFI range stems from Wendy’s interior design background, “The natural love for the art of colour”. “For our lovely customers, we invest in quality natural fibres, such as linen, cotton, cashmere/silk, from European designers.” Ethical labels and processes are valued, “From the first stages of production to the marketing of the products we use,” they say.

Promoting diversity and inclusiveness, the in-store experience is personalised, genuine, and empathetic with body stylising. “Our customers have become extended friends of our OFI team,”
Wendy says. The loyalty of customers and proof of the product are demonstrated by the fact that most customers’ wardrobes are 80% OFI, the pair say. “We feel rewarded to know our customers get as much satisfaction as we do with their purchases and their OFI boutique experience.”
