Give this spring

Spring is in the air as we look forward to some warmer weather and set our sights on the time of year where Christchurch really does shine.

Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre remains extremely busy, with around 80 events through until Christmas and our focus firmly on ensuring our clients and their guests have the best experience of our region.

However, it is important we start to reflect on those that are not as fortunate, particularly as we head towards Christmas. At Te Pae Christchurch we have a dedicated group of team members who lead our Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, which include both sustainability and community engagement projects.

This team selects an annual charity partner and this year we are supporting Cholmondeley House, which offers short term respite care for whanau with children aged 5-12.

Since opening for business in May last year, events that Te Pae has supported have raised over $750,000 for local organisations doing special things for our communities.

It is one of the most fulfilling parts of our role as the city’s convention centre and one of the most gratifying reasons for working with such a dedicated team who really do want to make a difference to Ōtautahi.

So, as we get ready to enjoy the warmth of Spring on our backs, I urge those that are able, to spend some time looking for ways to contribute to those organisations that are giving so much to make our region a better place.
