Best thing since sliced bread: GiveMeBread is bringing you culinary favourites right to your door
A delicious new business brings hungry people and their favourite restaurants together fast – without stepping out of the door.
GiveMeBread delivers Christchurch’s culinary favourites, fresh and hot, directly to the door, within half an hour – for a nominal charge that rivals petrol and parking costs. The $5.99 delivery fee (up to 4kms), with $1 per extra kilometre, makes it cost effective and convenient.
Marketing entrepreneurs Cathy and Abhay, who saw a gap in the market, launched the company in January 2018. Via an easy app or the website, customers order what they want, including special requests and instructions.
GiveMeBread contracts local drivers, with sufficient deliverers for every partnered restaurant and your meal’s whereabouts can be tracked on GPS. Delivered in specially insulated bags, it’s like dinner has just come out of the oven. “Quality and size is the same as you would get at the restaurant,” Abhay says.
Nearly 50 restaurants of multiple cuisines are already on board, including Slick Burgers, Thai Chef, The China Kitchen, Pitapit (Sydenham), Pedros House of Lamb and Madam Kwong. Riccarton locals have 25 choices and Papanui and Sydenham and the CBD are well represented, with further area expansion underway. Larger catering requests can also be arranged. “If you’re out, you can also place an order online from a restaurant’s menu and then pick it up on your way home at no extra cost.”
The website’s Bread Burpster Club awards a discount point for every $20 spent, regular specials, discounted or even free deliveries – making it even more appealing. Download the app and visit www.givemebread.co.nz
