Winter wellness: Unichem Cashel Pharmacy

As the weather cools down and the leaves start to turn, it’s time to start thinking about staying healthy and well this winter.

One of the most important things you can do to prepare for winter is to protect yourself from the flu.

The flu can be a real winter bugbear, with symptoms ranging from fever, cough, and sore throat to body aches, fatigue, and even diarrhea and vomiting.

The risk is particularly high for those with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and young children.

But fear not. You can take steps to protect yourself from the flu and promote winter wellness. Start by getting your annual flu vaccine, washing your hands regularly, and avoiding close contact with sick people.

If you do fall ill, stay home from work or school to avoid spreading the virus to others.

To make sure everyone has access to this important protection, certain groups are eligible for free flu vaccinations, including Māori communities, Pacific peoples aged 55 to 64 years, pregnant people, those aged 65+, people with certain medical conditions, and young children who have experienced respiratory illness.

So, if you want to fight the flu and stay healthy this winter, head on over to our Cashel Street or Forté pharmacy for a quick vaccination.

If you’re an employer, why not book us to come out and vaccinate your team, promoting a healthy and productive workplace.
