From the leadership of South Island’s top hairdresser, this salon team returns refreshed and inspired for another year of fabulous hair.
Sarah McGuigan’s prestigious title represents years of commitment to her craft. Her Cashmere salon, Savvy Hair, homes a further seven stylists chanelling confidence and care through hair. Despite 24 years in the industry, 15 as salon owner, and a raft of national awards, creative director and master stylist Sarah describes herself as a “lifelong learner”. The team is taught to welcome challenges in their industry, from complex editorial shoots to high-stakes national and international hair competitions. “Teamwork over ego,” Sarah says, of the salon’s ethos. “We focus on wellbeing and balance, accountability without fear, and that sense of connection, belonging and purpose.”

Chrystal: salon manager, bespoke blonde specialist, and New Zealand Hair Awards (NZHA) finalist, Chrystal hails from Nelson but blessed Christchurch with her talent
in 2018. Years spent upskilling, she’s excellent at cutting, and creating the perfect blonde for her large client following.
Lindsay: Relationship-focused and passionate about colour and grey blending, with a deep understanding of clients’ hair needs.
Lani: Driven by client satisfaction, Lani is obsessed with colour and transformative work, and a bouncy blow wave, Lani’s technique and skillset saw her become a 2025 NZHA finalist.
Olivia: A master of her craft, her expertise and creativity unmatched, Olivia loves to listen to your vision and bring it to life with precision and flair.
Heather: With experience at a top Sydney salon, master stylist Heather found her home at Savvy Hair. She adores cutting curly hair and crafting chic bobs.
Aimee: Senior stylist and NZHA finalist, Aimee has a love for balayage and blonde colours, but also loves the chance to do some fun, bright fashion work.
Terri: Newly qualified and expanding her skills, Terri is grounded in making people feel fabulous in their hair, and building ongoing relationships.
Anna: The lady who keeps the salon moving and clients smiling, reception and salon assistant Anna is fundamental and the team’s year-round support.
