Sustainable style: Fraemohs Homes
One New Zealand building company cuts through the currents, driving progress in sustainable building.
Fraemohs Homes’ craft has always been ahead of the times. For 58 years, the team has designed and championed timber homes that are naturally warm and healthy, carbon negative, good for the economy, and able to easily handle extreme conditions including massive earthquakes. Fraemohs’ solid timber system contains significant thermal mass, with their exclusively developed Thermal Modelling process for homes that are warm but don’t overheat.

MEET MONNI FRAEMOHS
Emigrating from Denmark to Christchurch, Monni brought with him a passion for Scandinavian solid timber home construction. In 1968 Fraemohs Homes were, and still are, the most environmentally responsible option there is.
These homes aren’t just about function though, their Scandi form is timeless, liveable, cosy, and translates across cultures. “Our clean lines, emphasis on natural timber, and homes built to last are always in style,” says business development manager Amanda van der Kley. “Our name is synonymous with quality because we blend craftsmanship and innovation to create spaces that inspire and endure.”
