Summer dining summed up: Dux Dine

Fresh flavours, paired with taste-quenching cocktails, shared with friends and family is part of what summer is all about.

Enjoy all this and more at one special oasis on Riccarton Road, encapsulating the feel of a European summer without you having to jump on a plane. At Dux Dine, sit with the sun shining in the garden courtyard, sip craft beer or cocktails that pair perfectly with your meal, and spend time with friends and family as if you’re on holiday all the time.

Based on a healthy lifestyle backed by nutritional science, the menu is built around the Mediterranean diet, with fresh, crisp, flavours, and nourishing ingredients. It’s a way of living that owner Richard Sinke has embraced for years. “There is so much evidence that supports the benefits on mental health, vitality, gut health,” he explains.

Snack, dine, and share as events season flourishes, or create your own event with the functions team. Serving up delicious, good-for-you food catered to your needs, the team can host whatever the occasion, from 10 to 100 people. Choose their two-hour bubbly brunch package, book your corporate end-of-year gathering, or simply round up your friends for a blissful day out.

A passionate owner makes all the difference in business; that is exactly what Richard brings. He describes Dux Dine as a “grown-up version of [Dux de Lux],” the historic restaurant known for its outstanding salad bar, that was tragically lost during the earthquakes. Regardless, Richard stands firm on the principles his restaurants are built on: exceptional food, a fresh feel, and experience innovation. From a morning coffee hub with the self-proclaimed “best scones in Christchurch”, to a haven for lunch, dinner, or a drink, the venue is a chameleon each day, becoming whatever you need it to be. Aesthetic and good-quality flavours are shaken and stirred to create a cocktail list that looks like a summer holiday. Live music on Fridays and Sundays completes that aura.
