Southern hospitality on the map
Southern hospitality has long been regarded as a geographical drawcard of trip a to the Southern Lakes region. Now Eichardt’s Private Hotel and The Spire Hotel have put this famous ‘Southern hospitality’ on the map in a more formal capacity, taking out the top gongs during international awards season.
Famed lakefront accommodation Eichardt’s Private Hotel has taken out best Australia & Oceania Luxury Ski Resort at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2018, while sister property The Spire will enjoy being dubbed New Zealand’s top Luxury Small Hotel.
General Manager of The Imperium Collection, the owner and operator of both venues – James Cavanagh was presented with the award at a gala dinner in Bali last month.
“In a period of growth for the group, where we have added a penthouse, three further suites, The Grille 130-seat restaurant plus luxury private cruising yacht Pacific Jemm to our portfolio, it’s a really proud moment to know that our eye for detail and superior guest experience has never wavered,” he says.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards are the pinnacle of achievement in the luxury hotel industry. Established in 2006, they offer international recognition as voted by guests, travellers and industry players alike. All winners are selected by public vote, reflecting real recognition for the hard work and dedication of hotel staff and hotel standards from peers and guests.
This win comes off the back of a further coup for Eichardt’s, which has just been crowned Elegant Luxury Hotel of the Year at the Luxury Travel Guide Awards.
