Simplicity at its best: Fraemohs Homes

Clean lines, natural timber, and homes built to last never go out of style – and when we talk about style, Scandinavians do it best.

For sixty years, one Scandinavian name has been synonymous with blending craftsmanship and innovation to create spaces that both inspire and endure.

We can thank Monni Fraemohs who brought his passion for Scandinavian solid timber home construction from Denmark to Christchurch.

In 1968, Fraemohs Homes were, and still are, the most environmentally responsible option available. The foresight of Monni Fraemohs has been vindicated as builders and building codes now race to catch up with his sustainable approach.

“Our process is transparent, our craftsmanship is local, and our vision is enduring,” says Amanda van der Kley, business development manager. “We have been genuine about sustainability long before it became mainstream.”

Timber is naturally warm and healthy, carbon negative, good for the economy, and easily handles extreme conditions including earthquakes. Fraemohs’ solid timber system contains significant thermal mass, and the team has developed their own Thermal Modelling process to design homes that are warm, but don’t overheat.

“You can’t beat us for a home with style and substance. We build to last, design to inspire, and have been trusted for generations. Let us build your forever home.”
