Secrets to scents

If you received a new scent this season then you are in luck and not alone. Estimates are that the perfume industry is worth more than $33 billion and growing steadily every day, proving we love fragrances. Applying perfume is not just a matter of dabbing or spraying it on. If you want it to linger longer here are some tips to try:

Pulse points:
The neck, wrists, behind the knee and all the way to the ankle are the right places to apply your daily scents. These are locations of pulse points, areas on your body where blood pumps near the skin’s surface. Focus your fragrance here and you’ll be surrounded by a cloud of lovely scent.

Day/night:
Different scents have different effects depending on the time of day. Adopt a lighter scent during the day, ideally an eau de toilette which is light, airy and carries well as we move around and exert energy. Save the heavier and more robust eau de parfum, often distinguished by a musk or spicy accent, for evenings out.

Layering:
Well done, you have chosen the best bouquet for you. Why not add multiple layers by way of lotions, creams and powders in the same scent?
This will assist in the longevity of your perfume and keep you surrounded by your chosen fragrance all day long.
