Salmon & Wine Festival

On the shores of Lake Ruataniwha, the Twizel Salmon & Wine Festival will mark its 17th anniversary this February.

Get ready for a taste of the Mackenzie District. Indulge in delicious local salmon, wine, and artisan produce while enjoying live music and brilliant salmon-themed entertainment. It will even make a great day for children with a bouncy castle and face painting.

The Cook Off
It’s hot, it’s competitive – it’s the famous Twizel Salmon Cook Off. See how the best of the best curate delicious dishes right in front of your eyes.

Wine
From Otago pinot noirs to North Canterbury rieslings, Twizel is in the middle of it all. Go and meet the winemakers at the festival.

Performers
Circus performers, MulletMan and Lieutenant Lou will be the roving entertainment and on stage there will be a variety of musicians to set the country vibe.
