Safer Air: Active Pure
Canterbury has played a crucial part in growing a globally leading air safety technology called ActivePure. Fully portable, its units actively and safely combat viruses, bacteria, mould and fungi in any indoor space, 24/7/365.
Developed with NASA scientists, this game changer has been shown to be highly effective against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19) in the air and on surfaces. So how did this tech with NASA origins land in Canterbury?
Rob Croft, the founder of Big Blue (New Zealand’s leading water cooler company), has always been passionate about indoor hygiene. After years of research, and during the country’s first ever Level 4 lockdown, Rob secured ActivePure for Australasia.
It’s now part of Big Blue’s Christchurch operations, and available to all Cantabrians.
“We’ve all taken the safety of our indoor air for granted for too long. Kiwis don’t accept unsafe water or food – so why accept unsafe air?” says David McGregor, Head of Growth for the company.
David says Canterbury based experts took a leading early adopter role in late 2020. “Canterbury District Health Board, for example was fantastic to deal with and saw the powerful impact of having ActivePure.”
The brand continues to grow strongly in the region. “Our units protect Cantabrians in offices, hotels, healthcare, GP clinics, retirement villages, and homes. We’ve completed five campaigns with NZ Olympic teams, and partnered with Razor and the Crusaders during their record sixth consecutive Super Rugby title.”
ActivePure is already protecting hundreds of thousands of Kiwis, and fast becoming an essential technology for wellbeing and productivity, David adds.
“After several major national interest deployments, ActivePure is finally available for everyone. We have appointed Saatchi & Saatchi, and the Publicis Groupe, to take our phenomenal journey to market and make ActivePure a mainstream tech for all indoor spaces.
“The ActivePure team is on a mission to ensure safer shared air for everyone in New Zealand and Australia.”
