Newly appointed Medical Director Dr Jean-François Guite (pictured), joins this established team of caring staff and experienced radiologists, to further build on its reputation as a leading Canterbury imaging facility. Across the region, patients request Beyond Radiology for their imaging needs. Jean-François is a highly experienced Canadian-trained radiologist specialising in interventional radiology, vascular imaging and general radiology. Throughout his career, his passion has lay within innovation and ongoing mentoring of up-and-coming clinicians.

After moving to New Zealand in 2021 with his wife and children, Jean-François worked throughout the motu (island) until relocating permanently in Christchurch in late 2024.

This decision was born out of a desire to join the Beyond Radiology team. “The ethos and values of putting the patient at the heart of what they do, supported by the world-class imaging facilities and highly skilled and supportive staff,” resonated strongly with his own values, Jean-François explains. “I wanted to join and lead the team, and commit to continuing this exceptional patient experience and care to the community of Canterbury.”

It is the imaging service that patients come to this clinic for, yet they return for the service and care. Think state-of-the art imaging: “We offer some of the best image quality available, with a complete suite of modalities including the latest Siemens 3T MRIs with deep resolve AI software, along with the latest CT, ultrasound and X-ray for both diagnostic and interventional procedures.

The latest technology and equipment however, is nothing without the team’s expertise. Experienced radiologists interpret the findings, provide reports to referring clinicians, and perform a range of interventional procedures. With Beyond Radiology’s exponential growth, the team continues to meet demand and grow to a 10-strong team.
