Posh Picnics
Shake the dust off your picnic basket and get it prepped for summer.
One blueprint to creating a fairy tale picnic, that will taste fantastic and look great in photos too, is colour, colour, and more colour. Just as dopamine dressing can benefit your mood, dopamine eating may uplift your day, especially with a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, in a gorgeous setting.
Things to try:
Pair delicious fruit with locally-grown flowers, such as carnations, sunflowers, and proteas. The brighter the better. Garnish desserts with edible flowers to really add some pizazz.
Ditch the tartan picnic blanket. Opt for a decorative tapestry or beloved quilt.
Who says drinking Champagne at noon is a bad thing?
Set your picnic scene with a quality bottle of bubbly, proper cutlery, glasses, tableware and fine linen napkins.
When your backyard isn’t the ideal spot for a picnic, venture out and appreciate the idyllic parks Christchurch has to offer. It is the Garden City after all. Fellow Cantabrians recommend The Groynes, Bottle Lake Forest and Risingholme Park. Or pack your sunscreen and find a shady spot at the beach.
