NZ’s top businesses

In an increasingly challenging business environment, the importance of excellent customer service has never been more critical.

The annual Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards, announced recently, highlight those businesses that have earned the trust and loyalty of New Zealand consumers through their outstanding customer service.

This year’s awards take on special significance in the face of New Zealand’s current economic challenges, says the publication’s editor-in-chief Louise Waterson. “With rising inflation and the increasing cost of living, consumers are more discerning with their spending. In these times, businesses need to go beyond just fulfilling a service,” she says.

“They need to truly understand their customers’ unique needs, and how they solve a problem is often a deciding factor in retaining their loyalty. The businesses that excelled this year understand that superior service is key to not just satisfying customers, but creating lasting positive impressions that keep them coming back.”

Gold awards this year went to AA Insurance, Princess Cruises, Hertz, Mitre 10, Best Start, Electric Kiwi, Flooring Xtra New Zealand, New Zealand Seniors, Kings Plant Barn, Frank Energy, Southern Cross Insurance, Specsavers, Signature Homes, JAE Group, Skinny, Liquorland, Toyota Signature Class, Resene Paints, SPCA Pet Insurance, Barfoot & Thompson, Summerset, AA Roadservice, Milford Asset Management, New World, The Tile Depot, Bridgestone, and Turners Cars.
