Making breakfast special
All types of occasions call for special breakfasts, from the fast approaching Mother’s Day, to drinks and nibbles when getting ready for a special event such as your wedding day.
Starting the day in style often includes bubbles, from bubble baths to drinking bubbly Champagne.
If it’s too early for champers on its own, maybe add a little orange, pineapple or guava juice.
Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day, the time when you add fuel to your body so it can make it through the day ahead. No fuel and you may find yourself tired, listless and grinding to a halt.
Special occasion breakfasts are easy peasy with a bit of imagination. Having them catered is one option, another is to DIY. Here are some suggestions for the latter:
- Fresh croissants with cream cheese and smoked salmon, or sizzling streaky bacon.
- Fruit muffins (blueberry, strawberry, or lemon maybe), with fresh fruit on the side.
- High tea-style with dainty club sandwiches, macarons, and bite-sized savouries.
- Pate, fruit, and cheese platters for those who like to graze. Don’t forget some chocolate.
- Blinis with caviar and cream cheese, avocado and tomato, or ginger prawns with sweet chilli sauce.
