Luxury car experiences
Global vehicle leader Lotus Technology is using Amazon Web Services (AWS) to amp up the development of intelligent, luxury car experiences.
Lotus will use AWS to implement its Vision80 Strategy, a plan to transform the company into a global luxury technology brand by 2028. Ongoing focus will be on luxury vehicles, with concentration on next-generation electric and digital technologies, says vice president Bo Li. Lotus plans to apply AWS technologies to develop connected features, such as autonomous driving solutions, immersive infotainment, and hyper-fast vehicle charging.
The company already runs its ROBO Soul self-driving software stack on AWS, enabling cars and trucks, including its next-generation electric vehicles, to automatically perform tasks such as parking and highway driving.
The company also uses Amazon CloudFront (AWS’s content delivery network) to offer real-time 3D vehicle rendering for personalised customisation and an immersive car-buying experience. This enables it to suggest and preview new model configurations in 3D, showing customers how their cars would look with distinctive accessories, colours, and trim packages, including limited-edition designs.
