Let’s keep up the momentum:

It’s been just over three years since Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre opened its doors for its first conference.

In that time, our city’s business events scene, and the wider economic impact of these events, have gone from strength to strength.
Te Pae Christchurch has been successful, however, this year the new convention centre opens in Auckland, which is well supported by their city and their casino. In Wellington, Tākina Convention Centre is backed by an aggressive Council fund to win events. Both cities are highly motivated to take conferences away from Christchurch.
Our proven excellence puts us in a great position to bring even more large international conferences and events to Ōtautahi Christchurch. More than ever, we need to unite in support of our city, focus on the value that business events bring to our region and rise above our competitors in Auckland, Wellington and East Coast Australia. The economic outlook for Christchurch is strong if we remain focused on our city’s future as a world-class business events destination.
