A recent addition to the friendly and welcoming team is radiologist Dr Samer Naser. Having trained in Germany, with subspecialist interests in emergency, MSK, neuro, body, vascular, and oncology imaging/interventional procedures, Dr Naser is onsite daily offering his skills.
Another imaging service provided here is the CT Calcium score scan. This specialised CT technique utilises high speed and high-resolution images in order to detect calcium deposits in the plaques, which can build up in the arteries of the heart (coronary arteries that supply the heart). The more calcium detected in coronary arteries, the higher the risk of heart disease. The CT Calcium score scan is a relatively simple imaging process that takes less than 15 minutes.
Ultrasound and x-ray are now also available by appointment at Dudley Creek Health in Christchurch, thanks to the Beyond Radiology team.
