Take the children to test out the new Te Ara Ihutai Christchurch Coastal Pathway, which boasts six and a half kilometres of impressive coastline between Ferrymead and Sumner’s Scarborough Beach. Or, play it safe at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, where you can use the lush flora and fauna to an educational advantage.

For a family day out
Head to Christchurch’s theme park, Jurassic Adventure. Dance with the dinosaurs, and test your family to a friendly mini golf challenge. Christchurch’s arcade and adventure scene continues
to grow, while classics like the Tram and Gondola mean there are always plenty of options to please.

Get creative
Open your child’s creative mind at one of the city’s breathtaking art galleries. Gallery-hopping one day, means encouraging your little ones to create their own art the next. Wake and bake
