Hand-crafted tops: Benchtop Concepts

Enjoying the job, and being proud of the finished product creates perfection.

Central to a flawless kitchen and bathroom are bench tops and vanities that are meticulously designed with hand-crafted finishing. “We don’t run a production line,” says managing director Andrew Crossland of Benchtop Concepts.

“Ex-joiners and stonemasons make up a high proportion of our team of 14. Some of them have been with us since we started, even one of the company’s former owners is on the tools. They really take ownership of their work.
“Our ethos is craftsmanship meets technology, with digital templating coupled with CNC machining, producing perfectly dimensioned tops, to which our staff add beautiful finishings. Also this technology enables us to maximise the yield of materials, thereby ensuring affordability of the end product.”
Emphasising convenience for tradesmen and homeowners, they are one of only two or three businesses in New Zealand that provide the full range of bench top solutions.

Choices include natural stone, engineered stone, porcelain, acrylic, and high-pressure laminate. The company utilises the best global and national branded products available such as Silestone, Caesarstone, Dekton, Corian and others.

“For example, you may have engineered stone in the kitchen with laminate in the scullery and porcelain bathroom vanities, all of which we can provide. Joiners often send their clients to us to choose from the samples in our modern showroom.”

Halswell based Benchtop Concepts provides quotes for projects from Nelson to Wānaka.
