One of life’s luxuries is having a walk-in wardrobe, or as some refer to them, a dressing room. By Lynda Papesch.
As the name suggests, this wardrobe is typically large enough to walk into; an entire room dedicated to storing clothes, shoes, and accessories. Often it is also fitted out for dressing in, with proper lighting, full-length mirrors and a makeup table.
A walk-in wardrobe usually includes various storage options such as shelves, drawers, hanging rails, a dressing table or island. Benefits include ample storage space, easy organisation of and access to all your clothes and accessories.
That means no need for drawers and dressing tables in your bedroom, making it a clutter-free zone. Remember, a clean and tidy bedroom can have a significant impact on your mental health.
Research has shown that cluttered and messy can contribute to feelings of stress and anxiety, whereas clean and organised can promote feelings of calm and relaxation.
Being organised may also help you to make better fashion choices. Easily seeing what’s in your wardrobe and how you can coordinate items into stylish outfits will help boost confidence, and ensure you avoid buying double-ups.
A fitted or built-in wardrobe organiser will help achieve the same effect in a smaller space, and, if the area is large enough, you may be able to slide in a compact tallboy.
