Spring magic

Spring brings an infectious feeling of joy with it, and for many people it’s their very favourite season.

Christchurch especially comes alive this time of year. The Garden City lives true to its name, as blossoms line the streets and daffodils nod their heads in our picturesque parks. More than that, a buzz is beginning to fill the city as people venture out after a winter cooped up inside.

Cantabrians are so lucky with all that we have on our doorstep; the walks to stunning views, numerous beaches only a short drive from central, adventure activities galore, and, of course, the wonderful hospitality and retail businesses that continue to grow.

While it’s easy to take it all for granted, it’s well worth taking some time to appreciate this ever-changing city that perfectly blends innovation and heritage like no other. Christchurch really is a special place to live, work and play.

Putting together Metropol every fortnight is always a challenging yet rewarding feat. This bumper issue has been a particularly special one, with so many incredible local businesses and people featured, sharing their stories, their products and their expertise.

The pages in this issue make me proud to call Canterbury home, and especially excited to get out and enjoy the warmer months now that Christchurch is ‘on show’. Whether you grew up here, are new to the city, or visiting, get out there, try something new and soak up all the spring magic. I know I will be.
