Extra cheese please: Cheese Bar
The growing landscape of Christchurch cuisine just got better.
Think classic Kiwi flavours, but with a cheesy twist.
The Cheese Bar has quickly become the city’s latest craze as owners Yanina and Terence take cheese to the next level.
From humble beginnings selling cheese toasties in their food trailer, the pair is now taking Christchurch by storm, with bookings filling up fast. Covid-19 forced their food trailer to an end, and Yanina and Terence had to look elsewhere without leaving behind their love and expertise in the food industry. When a restaurant lease became available, an opportunity arose to take their Cheese Bar idea from dream to reality.
Covered in cheese from dinner to dessert, the Cheese Bar menu serves a range of different cheeses in a variety of ways. Their famous raclette skillet combines meal and experience with melted raclette cheese scraped straight into your dish. “You won’t find it anywhere else” says Yanina.
For dessert, indulge in their cream cheese brulées, or share the ‘grande cheese fondue’. Quality cheeses and meats from France and Italy, along with Ōamaru’s Whitestone Cheeses, each dish is culinary excellence.
Cheese lovers, visit 87 Kilmore Street, Christchurch central city or book online now.
