Exciting city venues: Christchurch Attractions
The opening of Te Pae, Christchurch’s convention centre, has been confirmed for late October and already bookings are rolling in.
This is exciting news for the team at Christchurch Attractions, with the company delighting to feature the most iconic attractions our city has to offer for conference and business delegates.
“A unique offering for an event is to use Christchurch’s heritage trams,” says sales manager Caryn Stevens.
“Delegates can be supplied with a tram pass as part of their conference registration. The trams can easily move delegates from central city hotels to Te Pae and the
Town Hall, Riverside Market or the Arts Centre and Museum precinct.”
Guests can also be treated to a private one-hour tram ride while enjoying drinks and canapés and seeing central Christchurch – pre-dinner socialising in a very distinctive and memorable way.
“Conference organisers have become very keen on their delegates getting out and about,” says Caryn.
“Fresh air and different sensory experiences are good for delegates’ welfare.” Christchurch Attractions’ punting excursion on the Avon from the Worcester Bridge, just a few steps from Te Pae, through Victoria Square and past the Town Hall offers a relaxing time out from a conference.
The Christchurch Gondola is another wonderful option for events, conferences and meetings. Situated atop the Port Hills with a cableway ride to the summit, the multipurpose venue space can host a range of activities and functions including buffet breakfasts and lunches, drinks and canapé functions and seated dinners for up to 120 guests.
Panoramic views of Christchurch and Lyttelton, and walking tracks at the door make this a unique venue for various events.
