Editor’s Note: Sunshine, lollipops, and roses

Sunny days are here again, the skies above are clear again… It’s not bright sunshine every day yet, however temperatures are hotting up, and business appears to be picking up too.

Warmer weather often brings a lighter, happier vibe with it; people emerging, blinking into the sunlight, heading out to brunch, lunch, and dinner, and generally feeling more positive. Outdoor events are to the fore, showcasing Christchurch’s stunning gardens, parks, beaches, and cultural offerings.

Longer days bring more opportunity to explore the city. Personally I’m checking out a few new eateries that have opened their doors, a couple of the latest exciting bars, and some old favourites. I know it often boils down to personal taste, but occasionally it is worth leaving your comfort zone, and experiencing something completely different.

Challenge yourself to embrace life, grab it by the horns and get out there.Christchurch is a vibrant, happening city, and you will find no shortage of inspirational things to indulge in, especially in the lead up to and during Cup Week.

A word of advice, if you are looking for that special outfit to wear to the races, get in early. Many boutiques have limited stock on some popular brands, and it is first in first served, so how about planning a bit of retail therapy, followed by lunch in the city. Better yet, head out in a group, and make a day of it.
