Craft and Christmas cheer – Mickey Raes
Forty years ago, Wendy Lamont was a schoolgirl making wedding accessories. Her business quickly grew into a thriving home-based venture, then expanded online.
Today, Wendy is the proud owner of the beloved Mickey Raes retail store in Hanmer Springs – and after five months of weather-related delays, she’s delighted to finally open the doors to her new, larger space.
The bright, spacious store found at Shop 4, 30 Conical Hill Road, opposite the MK restaurant, marks an exciting new chapter. “I’m thrilled with how the store has come together,” Wendy says. “It’s bigger and brighter, with a fabulous range of craft and quilting supplies, haberdashery, wool, eco-friendly and educational toys, homeware and books. I still handcraft wedding accessories, and it’s lovely to now be making pieces for the daughters of brides I once served.”
Fully stocked for the festive season, Mickey Raes has combined with the popular pop-up Christmas shop Wendy operated at Boulder Point in previous years, bringing all your holiday shopping under one roof. Close to the heart of the village, Mickey Raes is spreading Christmas cheer throughout Hanmer Springs.
