Cap it off

As the weather fines up, the need to be more sun smart increases.

One of the basics is a hat, or for many people a baseball-style cap. The origins of the baseball cap date back to about 1860, when the American amateur baseball team Brooklyn Excelsiors wore headwear with a visor to shade their eyes and obtain better vision in dazzling sunlight. The caps soon became popular in America, the design evolving in the 1940s with added ventilation holes and longer brims for better shielding faces
from the sun.

The design hasn’t changed much since then, however the cap has transitioned from being just a sports accessory to a contemporary fashion icon. These days, celebrities, artists and all manner of people don them, complete with logos and fashion brands. They’ve become an all-year-round accessory, to shelter your face from sun, wind, and rain, keep your hair in place, and add a touch of style to your outfit.
