Brothers open new home franchise: Stonewood Homes

Local siblings Aaron and Lewis Strong have opened the region’s first Stonewood Homes’ franchise with a new showroom in Rangiora.

Combining their sales and building expertise, the brothers are also working on house and land packages throughout Christchurch and North Canterbury, including some 10 acre blocks. These will be on the market shortly.

Aaron lives in Rangiora and began his career in the building industry at Carters, starting as the boy in the yard who worked his way up to a trade sales rep then on to a manager’s role.

A seven-year stint selling houses and sheds added to his experience.
Lewis’ career also started in the industry with a building apprenticeship, before he developed his own building company, Hi-Spec Homes.

Aaron says he always wanted to work for himself, so when he started looking for opportunities earlier this year, Lewis was there to join him.

“Our partnership works well. I have the expertise in sales, and manage the day-to-day running of the business, while Lewis takes on the role of project manager with his building background.”

Stonewood Homes General Manager Gregg Somerville says it is an ideal time to be starting a new business as you get a ‘‘chance to get established to be ready to grow when the market rebounds’’.
