Awesome embellishing

Using embellishments, and appliqué, to add panache to fashion garments is a hot trend currently, although the contemporary visions strutting catwalks in 2023 are vastly different to granny’s days of patchwork and quilting.
The embellishment trend has dominated runways worldwide, and major events such as this month’s Met Gala. Bejewelled embellishments are making their mark in day wear and evening fashion, along with scraps of fabrics being repurposed to create bold fashion adornments.
Flowers are popping up on chokers, as brooches, and in hair ornaments, while embellishments include ropes of pearls, gold, silver and multi-coloured beads.

A decorative detail or feature added to make another thing more beautiful, or interesting. The type of embellishment on a fashion garment is important, as the design, weight, style, and fabric need to work together to enhance the overall look.
