A Plumbing Fix – Finn Plumbing

Humans have been tinkering with plumbing since historic times. Taking water and waste water from A to B, heating it, cooling it, storing it, and experimenting with creating pressure. Queen Elizabeth I banished Sir John Harrington from Court for telling racy stories.

With time on his hands he went home and created the first flushing toilet – “the John”.

While 500 year-old plumbing is generally not an issue for Nigel Patterson, Director of Finn Plumbing, he and his team are experts in updating plumbing for historic homes and buildings.

“We have just completed a large renovation of a significant city home, together with fitting out the modern architectural extension,” says Nigel, “and we are making a start on a 100 year old home in Mt Pleasant.”

Solar, gas, and central heating are specialities of the team, making them a go-to choice for modern homes, small commercial, and high-end architectural projects.

“We are happy doing everything from relatively minor to large jobs, and we cover Ashburton, Banks Peninsula, to Rangiora and Pegasus. Challenges in both modern projects and old difficult to work with plumbing are our forte,” says Nigel.
