Saluting rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest: Isaac Theatre Royal
Hendrix! Winehouse! Cobain! For one night only, Australian rock spectacular ‘27 Club’ salutes the music legends who burned bright and left too soon.
Winner of the Adelaide Fringe’s Best Music Award 2021, this electrifying tribute celebrates the legendary members of the so-called 27 Club – Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, and Jim Morrison – at Christchurch’s Isaac Theatre Royal. Their souls left us, but their iconic anthems endured.

On Tuesday 24 March, prepare for a roof-raising, spell-binding performance from some of Australia’s most celebrated rockstars. Fronted by an all-star lineup of Aussie rock royalty, including Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans, Jebediah), Carla Lippis (Mondo Psycho) and Dusty Lee Stephensen (Wanderers), 27 Club delivers powerhouse performances of some of the greatest songs in rock history, alongside stories that shaped a generation.

“27 Club is a true rock ‘n’ roll celebration of some of the most talented artists in music history, who tragically left the stage way too early. We honour their legacy the best way we know how: on stage to perform their music, tell their cautionary tales, and celebrate their cultural impact,” says Kevin.
Presented by the Isaac Theatre Royal and Amplified House, this star-studded showcase reflects the high standard we’ve come to expect from these entertainment establishments. “We are thrilled to have assembled this talented lineup of artists once again, as they perform some of the greatest songs in rock history with such artistry and authority,” says director and producer Zac Tyler of Amplified House.

From searing guitar solos to soul-shaking vocals, 27 Club is a full-throttle celebration of rebellion, brilliance and rock mythology – a night that honours the legends not with silence, but with volume. “Come as you are to celebrate the artists who will forever be 27 – and the music that will never die,” says CEO Greg Ward.
