Te Pae General Manager Ross Steele: A regenerated city
In just under three years since opening, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has become a shining example of the successful regeneration of our city.
Hosting a diverse range of national and international conventions, exhibitions, banquets, meetings, and live entertainment, Te Pae is helping to firmly establish Christchurch as a unique destination for global business events.
In 2024, Te Pae hosted over 220 events and has an exciting programme lined up for 2025. These events not only showcase Christchurch as one of the world’s most vibrant and accessible cities for business events, they also contribute to our city’s ongoing professional, creative, and economic growth.
As the world’s first convention centre to achieve Toitū net carbonzero accreditation, we’re committed to continuous improvement. From simple actions to innovative sustainability initiatives, we encourage our local community, event organisers, suppliers, and visitors to join us in making planet friendly choices.
At the heart of our business is hospitality, and it’s wonderful to see such positive client feedback this year. From initial planning to delivery of events, our team and local suppliers are being praised for their exceptional service, attention to detail, and warm Canterbury welcome.
Thank you to our local community for the ongoing support, we look forward to another busy year and shared success in 2025. On behalf of the Te Pae team, I wish you and your loved ones an enjoyable and safe festive season – Meri Kirihimete.
