A Sunday suggestion: West Melton Community Market
A strong sense of community in the West Melton township led to the establishment of their community market three years ago.
Today, the market has gained such a reputation for the variety of its stalls and casual, friendly vibe that people from outside the area often visit. There is also a waiting list of stallholders each month, emphasising its popularity.
The West Melton Community Market is held on the first Sunday of each month outside the West Melton Community Centre between 9.30am – 12.30pm – the next being on Sunday 3 November.
Here you can meet friends, have a cup of coffee and a snack, and wander around over 50 stalls that present their wares. You will discover from the many artisan sellers that there is something for everyone.
Think honey, sauces and chutneys, wines, wooden objects, plants, dolls’ clothes, children’s clothes, garden art, and that’s just for starters. If you feel that seems an overwhelming choice, you will be quite blown away by the pre-Christmas market on 1 December when the number of stalls doubles and the time is extended until 2.00pm. All kinds of Christmas giftware and decorations will tempt you.
Make a Sunday trip out to West Melton. You won’t go home empty-handed.
