Come on in: Tait Gallery

While exploring Hanmer Village’s boutiques and cafés, two iconic characters will be noticed sitting upon their plinth, welcoming all to Tait Gallery.

“Teddy and Churchill (pictured) went to their UK homeland for Her Majesty’s 70th Jubilee, and returned with a superb selection for our five-year celebration – from enchanting ceramics to beautiful artworks in bright, vibrant colours,” says owner William Taylor.

“Our displays include pottery, glass, modern locally designed jewellery, European antique rings, prints, and garden art. Bronze sculptures are by eminent Anneke Bester, and intricate steel and copper by local artists Mark Larsen, Tony Harding and David Kean.”

Established and emerging local and international artists feature paintings by Tony and Alethea Roche, Jane Riley, Debbie Lambert, Roger Heslop, Sam Warren, Ivan Button, Svetlana Orinko, Ross Lee, Devon Huston. Photography images by Ian Gardiner, David Shepherd, Bryan Isbister and Kevin Clarke.

“Walk, cycle and picnic in fresh air and sunshine, and bring the children to visit Teddy and Churchill.”

For something affordable or sublimely collectable, visit Tait Gallery, 34 Conical Road, from 10.00am every day (except Wednesday). The gallery also offers framing and display advice, international and national postage and packaging.
