Understanding the market: Mike Pero Fendalton

While Covid-19 has undeniably dealt heavy blows to our health and our economy, weirdly, it has also brought about changes in the way we live that might actually be good for us.

Zoom became the new meeting format and we grew to love it because it was just so darned convenient. We began to work from home and realised we were finally working smart.

Kelvin Howell and Jacqui McBride of Mike Pero Fendalton have been working from home for over a year now, and, contrary to expectations, have found it beneficial to their real estate work.

“Covid-19 taught us we can still sell houses without having to run big fancy offices. Working from home allows us to give that 100 percent focus and commitment to our clients,” Kelvin says.

Kelvin shares some insight as to where the property market is currently.

“A year ago, we were seeing prices for homes that had not been reached before. Now the market is adjusting – what we would call a normal market.”

“There is no doubt that there are more listings and the process of selling a home is taking longer – but again, that is a normal market.” Kelvin emphasises that there is no need to panic if people are selling and buying in the same market.

“Don’t put off selling your home, as you may find there is still a little bit more to come out of the market yet.”

Combined experience

Kelvin and Jacqui’s 30 years combined experience in real estate is the core strength they bring to their clients; they understand all aspects of buying and selling property.

“Crucial to any buy or sell proposal is to have an agent who understands the value of good marketing – who truly wants the best for their clients with whom they have built a close relationship.”

Kelvin says that as time isn’t always on the purchaser’s side when aligning finances and insurance, it lessens the pressure if all the paperwork is in order prior to signing that final purchase agreement.

Kelvin and Jacqui are optimistic about the future. “The last few years have been a roller coaster ride, but it’s not all doom and gloom, as any agent with ten plus years of experience could tell you.”
