Christchurch women are being invited to step into their strength this winter with Unstoppable, an empowering evening dedicated to building healthier, more resilient bodies through menopause and beyond. Taking place on 17 June at the McFadden Centre, this event blends cutting-edge science with practical, real-world strategies to help women feel energised, capable, and confident at every stage of midlife.
“Unstoppable is all about the importance of strength training through menopause and beyond to support muscle mass and bone density as we age,” says organiser and menopause coach
Brenda Bickerstaff of Simply Nourish.
At the heart of the evening is guest expert Loretta Hogg, a highly qualified strength and conditioning coach who collaborates with internationally recognised women’s health physiologist Dr Stacy Sims. Loretta brings both academic expertise and hands-on experience, working with high performance athletes as well as everyday women who want to move and feel better.
Her session will unpack why strength training is one of the most powerful tools for maintaining muscle mass, supporting bone density, and boosting long-term health.
“Whether you’re navigating the menopause transition or well beyond it, the next decades can be your strongest yet, if you have the right tools,” says Brenda. “This is an evening for women who want to build a body that works for them, strong, capable, and full of energy, for today and for years to come.

Unstoppable reflects Brenda’s mission to support women with personalised nutrition and lifestyle guidance. As a Christchurch-based menopause nutritionist, accredited educator, and specialist coach, Brenda has built Simply Nourish into a trusted space where women learn how to thrive – not just survive – through the hormonal transitions of peri menopause and beyond.
“I support women through menopausal transitions because this stage of life isn’t about losing yourself or slowing down. With the right knowledge and support, it can become a time where you feel stronger, more confident, and more at home in your body again – active, capable, and vibrant for many years to come.” To book a menopause support and nutrition consultation with Brenda, or find out more about her starter packages, go to www.simplynourish.co.nz.
As an event, Unstoppable is designed to leave women with clear strategies, whether they’re completely new to strength training or already lifting weights but looking to refine their current routine. The evening also includes a live Q&A.
“This gathering is a celebration of what’s possible when women prioritise their health and strength. It’s about shifting the narrative around ageing from limitation to empowerment.” To book tickets to Unstoppable, go to menostrength.eventbrite.co.nz.
