Maybe it’s something you do because you like to arrive at work on time, and not sopping wet. I reckon a good portion of Kiwi drivers fit into the latter category.
The idea of just going for a drive, with no particular destination in mind, other than to experience the sounds and sensations of your vehicle, would, to some people, be the last thing they want to do.
However, there are many in New Zealand that really, really, like driving.
When you look at local car culture, or know someone who is car fanatic, you then begin to unearth a booming sub culture of passionate people who live and breathe all things automotive.
Every weekend, there are meets taking place and drives planned for car clubs and enthusiast groups alike, like “Canterbury Car Scene” and the “Canterbury Automobilist Group” for example.
Cars aren’t every Kiwi’s thing for sure, but those who really get the joy of driving get it bad.
