As New Zealand’s street art capital, Christchurch is the right and proper place to host The Art of Banksy exhibition.

Christchurch is New Zealand’s coolest city, and its vibrant street art scene transforms every stroll into an open-air gallery. Summer is the perfect time to explore, with blue skies and bold murals around every corner.

This season, the city takes urban culture to new heights with The Art of Banksy exhibition at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre from 17 December 2025 to 27 January 2026 (excluding public holidays). For the first time in the South Island, and the last time in NZ, locals and visitors can experience 150 of the notoriously mysterious artist’s most iconic artworks, including Girl with Balloon and Flower Thrower, which is accompanied by a video interview with Banksy’s former girlfriend, Leonie Laws.

More than an art show, this is a cultural moment that cements Ōtautahi Christchurch’s place as the street art capital of NZ, on the global map.
