CYCLE
Kaiterau Trail: Mt Fyffe is Kaikōura’s most advanced mountain bike track for real thrill seekers. The way up is a serious hill climb adventure, which requires a very good level of fitness. You will be rewarded with a downhill rush and breath-taking views over Kaikōura and mountain ranges.
Kōwhai River Bike Trail: Built by keen cyclists and volunteers, starting at South Bay, this trail suits most riders of average ability. Following the road and ocean to the Kōwhai Bridge, this is a proper mountain bike trail with some roots, rocks, and obstacles.

STROLL
Kaikōura Peninsula Walkway: Cross the peninsula’s clifftop in this three-hour, family friendly walkway. This track offers clifftop views of the mountains and sea, with points to observe seals and seabirds. The walkway starts from Kaikōura township and returns via South Bay and Tom’s Track. There is an impressive collection of information panels along the path, explaining the rich history, animals and plants in the area.
Hinau Track: This 45-minute loop track passes through an unusual forest with a number of hīnau trees. The family friendly loop exposes visitors to masses of native vegetation including māhoe, putaputawētā, broadleaf, tree fuchsia and pigeonwood. The track begins in Mt Fyffe carpark.
