If you have been at The Terrace lately, you will have noticed a new construction project underway.
Behind the hoardings, our latest addition is beginning to take shape.
ROCA Rooftop is now under construction, with an opening anticipated in autumn next year. It sits above the iconic red façade of The Little Fiddle, which sits right in the heart of The Terrace, overlooking the courtyard space known as The Terrace Piazza.
What appeals to me about the concept is that it won’t simply be more ROCA – which, to be fair, few would complain about, particularly following its recent Michelin Guide recognition. David Warring and the Warring Group team are giving ROCA Rooftop a personality of its own: the same attention to food, design, service and detail, but with a lighter, even more social feel that suits its elevated setting.
At its heart will be an impressive pizza oven imported from Italy, turning out Mediterranean-style flatbreads. Think an Aperol Spritz on the deck, a cold beer from the tap, sharing plates on the table and the buzz below.
The Terrace is all about different spaces and different experiences, but with a shared sense of energy. ROCA Rooftop will add another dimension to that.
As landlords, we’re delivering the base build, with Warring Group bringing the hospitality fit-out and operation to life. It is a collaborative, bespoke project from the outset, and one that promises to add another layer of quality, vibrancy and confidence to The Terrace and to Christchurch.
