The first day in January is about making resolutions, and starting the year off on the right foot.
Invite family and friends over for a tasty brunch to celebrate new beginnings with these tips:
- To inspire feelings of rejuvenation, choose simple, yet bright décor and fresh flowers. Paeonies symbolise happiness, and good fortune, and lillies represent fresh life and also rebirth.
- Send out sparkly invites so your favourite people can make the event a priority.
- Make drinking Champagne in the morning more palatable by adding orange juice and turning it into a mimosa, or peach juice for a bellini.
- Grab pastries for the brunch menu, and pair them with classic eggs, bacon, and hash browns; your guests will enjoy the range of choices.
- Include pen and paper with each table setting. When everyone is settled in, encourage your guests to write down their New Year resolutions. Sharing them with each other will make each person more accountable. Keep your resolutions realistic and build in daily habits that will help you to achieve them in 2024.
- Set out mini gift bags filled with goodies from Boxing Day sales, to show gratitude to your friends and family for their company during the year.
