Raise the roof: Graham Hill Roofing

The state-of-the-art, retractable and all-seasons roofing on the new stadium is key to its success and ability to host events all year round.
Graham Hill Roofing is proud to have delivered the external roofing and wall installation package for the new stadium development, a landmark project that will become a defining feature of the region’s sporting and events infrastructure.
“Our involvement has extended beyond installation,” says managing director Zach McKay. “With our team contributing to the detailed design of both the roof and wall systems to meet the project’s demanding acoustic performance criteria.”
Acoustics have been central to the design, says Zach. The roofing and wall assemblies were carefully engineered to manage reverberation, control external noise transmission, and enhance the spectator experience within the enclosed environment. “This required close collaboration with our partner RoofLogic, and the main contractor to ensure the selected materials, insulation build-ups, and liner systems achieved the required ratings without compromising structural integrity or buildability.”
The geometry of the large-span roof structure, combined with tight tolerances around penetrations and interfaces, demanded precise set-out and sequencing. Installation was undertaken across expansive work fronts at height, supported by engineered access systems and rigorous safety planning. Staged construction also required carefully managed temporary weatherproofing to maintain watertightness and protect internal works.
