Christchurch-based Forsana is scaling up production and retail reach as demand surges for non-toxic household cleaners, plant care and water treatment solutions across New Zealand and Australia.

Christchurch eco-friendly manufacturer Forsana is accelerating its growth, announcing new retail partnerships and a push into the Australian market as demand rises for safer, sustainable cleaning and water treatment products.

The company has secured a supply agreement with rural services firm Farmlands, bringing its tank water treatment solutions to more than 80 stores nationwide. The move will improve access for farmers and lifestyle property owners reliant on rainwater systems, particularly in remote areas. Forsana has also struck a deal with Mitre 10, further strengthening its domestic footprint. Forsana has been entirely bootstrapped to date and remains self-funded, having achieved profitability from the outset.

Already stocked in over 600 outlets across New Zealand, Forsana is responding to strong global tailwinds, with demand for natural household cleaners rising as consumers shift toward biodegradable, non-toxic alternatives.

Co-founder Dan Hawke says the company’s hydrogen peroxide-based products stand out for their environmental credentials. “Hydrogen peroxide is a compound that breaks down into water and oxygen, leaving no toxic residue,” he says. The company has also enhanced its formula with ionised silver to improve stability and extend effectiveness.

“One of our fastest growing markets is plant care – helping to combat fungal infections and pests and promoting healthier root growth.”

Forsana plans to scale production by hundreds of thousands of litres and expand its retail footprint by more than 100 stores over the next five years. Having already reached more than 100,000 Australian customers online, it is now working through regulatory requirements to grow its presence there, with longer-term ambitions in Asia and North America.

“At the moment, we’re actively pursuing distribution partners and well-aligned investment opportunities,” says Dan.
