Great grub and conviviality: Two Fat Possums

It might be only a short drive out of the city, but the atmosphere in West Melton’s Village Centre is that of a country village. And the village “pub” is the Two Fat Possums, a name as amusing as any equivalent in the United Kingdom.

You expect great grub in an establishment of this kind and The Two Possums most certainly lives up to those expectations. Wood-fired pizzas, beef cheek Madras curry and a selection of steaks are notable mentions from the menu, with the pizzas being only $20 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Every Wednesday night is burger night with large burgers only $15 each, including fries. There is just so much for any “possum” to choose from.

Those in the know make Two Fat Possums their first port of call during the ski season, as they drive back from the mountains. With its spacious dining areas and warm ambience, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a beverage to discuss the day’s activities.
