By November, gardens are telling you a lot, says horticultural expert Nathan Neath from Green Giant Gardens.

You can see what’s thriving, what’s getting lost, where things have become crowded, and where a space just isn’t quite earning its keep.

Sometimes the answer is surprisingly small, like moving a plant, opening up a border, adding height, colour or texture. Other times, the whole garden needs a rethink. We do both.

That might mean refreshing an established garden or completely overhauling a tired space with a tailored planting plan. Working in gardens all over Christchurch, we see plants in the real world. You learn pretty quickly what actually performs and what just looks good in the nursery. We know what thrives, what disappoints, and what still looks good years later.

Some of our clients have been with us for 10 years, so we’ve watched their gardens change and mature. I love seeing what happens when a garden gets the right care and attention year after year. Regular maintenance isn’t just about keeping things tidy, it’s about helping the whole garden continue to thrive.
