4 August Big Tunes
When it comes to music, it doesn’t get much bigger than the big band. Canterbury’s very own Mainland Big Band will be performing a little bit of rock, a little bit of pop, some lovely ballads and a touch of jazz from the 50s through to the 80s and 90s at the Cashmere Club.

6-19 August Art with Heart
Ira Mitchell-Kirk is presenting her exhibition My Heartland at the Christchurch Arts Centre from 10am-5:30pm daily. A portion of sales will be going to support AVIVA, which provides family violence support and services.

17 August No Holds ‘Bard’

5-15 September The city’s Top Dog
As part of NZ Theatre Month, Top Dog Theatre is presenting ‘The ACB with Honora Lee’ based on the book by Kate De Goldi and adapted into a play by Jane Waddell. Performed just once in Wellington to rave reviews, this is Christchurch’s chance to get in on the action, at the Merivale Lane Theatre, Rangi Ruru Girls’ School.
