Fancy an event in the closest thing to an English pub to be found in Christchurch?
The Sprig and Fern in Merivale and its century-old premises is a slice of England in Ōtautahi.
One of the best little locals in town, Sprig and Fern has a delightfully cosy function area, ‘The West Wing’ separate from the main bar and restaurant area. A tasteful interior design personally chosen by co-owner Wendy Roigard, with inviting furnishings and a warm colour scheme certainly serves that charming pub vibe.
“During the day, this wing can be hired out for private events such as a corporate strategy session,” says Wendy. “We have a separate sound system here as well as a white board, flip charts and VDU. In the evening this is a perfect space for a family event or a Christmas function. We can accommodate between 20 to 50 guests in this area.” The main restaurant though, is also available for larger events of up to 90 people.
No function is complete without good food and beverages. The menu features pub favourites with pizza being a speciality along with antipasto platters, bar snacks, and easy to eat finger food.
