Distinguished Christchurch interior designer Ben Lewis adds another three accolades to his long list of achievements on the world stage.

His work for luxury furniture, furnishings and homeware store, TRENZSEATER, graces countless Canterbury homes, and now, for the ninth consecutive year, Ben Lewis receives significant recognition as a finalist in the International Design & Architecture Awards. Ben has also been named in The World’s Leading Design Names, a publication compiling a handful of the most superior interior designers globally, for the sixth year running between 2018 and 2024. Hosted and featured in magazine design et al, the awards celebrate excellence in the interior design and architecture industry on a global scale, recognised by leading designers and architects in the industry as the benchmark in global design. “It means a lot to receive recognition at an international level for the work you so passionately do day in and day out,” Ben says.

In September at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, sponsors will announce and award the winning entries with their trophies. Included in the judging process is an open-to-public vote, which recorded more than 86,000 votes in 2024. The winning entries will be published in design et al’s special hardcover issue.

Continuing his run of victories, Ben nabbed an additional accolade as a finalist for the Society of British International Design (SBID) 2025 Awards for the eighth consecutive year. Arguably one of the most prestigious awards events in the global design calendar, the SBID International Design Awards received submissions from more than 49 countries, with each entry undergoing an exclusive two-tier selection process. The acclaimed judging panel, which spans industry experts from
Christian Louboutin, Bentley Motors, and Boeing, marks this an exceptional honour and achievement for one of Christchurch’s own. Representing, recognising and rewarding talent and design excellence across all corners of the industry, entries are judged on their technical content and aesthetic creativity, with input from a design-conscious community.

This recognition for Ben Lewis and TRENZSEATER is a remarkable achievement for the year-on-year commitment and passion to delivering premier interior design projects. Cementing his status as a name for the very best interior design on offer in New Zealand, Ben says he is “hugely grateful” for the generous support of his clientele. Founded by Ben and brother Hamish in 2004, TRENZSEATER is a haven for those seeking high-end and luxury home interiors. Visit the Christchurch store at 121 Blenheim Road.
